Our Mission
At ELSSA, understanding our journey is vital to appreciating our impact. We invite you to learn about our dedication to lifesaving training and community empowerment.

ELSSA Africa is a registered charity working to transform maternal and newborn care in some of the world’s most fragile health systems – starting in South Sudan.
We deliver lifesaving healthcare training for midwives, doctors, nurses and community practitioners in low-resource settings where the need is greatest and the infrastructure is weakest.

In South Sudan, hundreds of women die because of complications during pregnancy or childbirth.
Almost all of these deaths are preventable.
The biggest tragedy? The skills to save them exist. They just haven’t reached the people who need them most.
That’s where ELSSA comes in.
